Step By Step
Your appointment has finished and your patient is ready to pay. Firstly, log in to your Medipass portal and select "+ payment request" in the top left-hand corner.
Secondly, select how your patient will be paying for this service. For an OHC payment, you will need to select OHC like so:
Here, you will be able to chose whether you wish to send the transaction to the patients phone or to the HICAPS terminal like so:
Enter in the details of the payment you want to make: the date of the appointment, your practice and practitioner, and the patient (tip: you can search for the patient by their name, email address or phone number) - and click "Create payment request".
The patient will then receive a notification - either via SMS or the HICAPS Go app - to inform that they have a new payment to reconcile.
If your patient does not have the HICAPS GO app, they will receive an SMS to their phone. This will prompt them to either log in to their existing Medipass account or add their details to accept the transaction. Details of what this will look like to your patient can be found here.

Alternatively, if your patient has the HICAPS GO app, they will receive a notification which will take them to the approval screen, where they simply need to tap "Approve" to finalise the payment.
That's it! The transaction will then change from "Pending" to "Accepted" on your screen like so:
Your patient will then receive a receipt sent via email and you will be able to view this payment in your "Transactions" screen which can be found in the left hand menu.
