Assisted Card Payments (ACP) allows you to process a debit or credit card payment, all on behalf of your patient and with their consent, allowing you to process payments for patients who either do not have a smart phone, or who do not have the ability to use it for Medipass claiming and payments.

Please note:

  • ACP is only available for businesses using Medipass Card Payments. To use Medipass Card Payments you can follow these steps.
  • A transaction limit of $250 applies to ACP. Payment amounts over this must be sent to a patient via a Payment Link, email or SMS.

How to use ACP

Firstly, create any associated claim (if applicable), such as private health insurance or Medicare. Once this is complete, you will then be then be shown an overview of your transaction and be given a list of payment options.

From these options select "Assisted card payment". From here you can then enter your patient's card details and process the transaction. Please note:

  • You must have card holder approval to charge their card.
  • You can optionally save these card details to make the payment experience faster next time, but again, you must have card holder approval to do this.

After you've put in the correct payment card, click "Submit".

Note: to edit the payment card details you can update these by clicking the "Patient" tab and clicking the patient's name. You can select "Edit" to change the saved card.
