Back dating a private health insurance claim means to submit a claim for a service that has been performed in the past.

Can this be done in Medipass?

Each health fund has their own rules regarding processing of claims for services performed in the past, though most of the time, this is not permitted. We recommend always raising a HICAPS claim on the day of the service.

As this can change, you may have been able to back date claims for a patient in the past but a new back dated claim may not be approved.

If you have any questions about back dating a claim, please get in touch with the Medipass Support team via the pink chat bubble.
